A few days ago, we relaunched Gothic Girl Art Magazine.  What better way to celebrate than to dive into the state of Goth music across the world.  For June and July we’re on an exploration to find out the state of Goth music.

But more importantly, our intent is to discover the motivation between music being created today, particularly through lyrics~turmoil, rage, or simply the love of grand stories told through music?  Or is it something completely different?

  • From Germany, we’ll bring you Hydra~with a particular focus on both their Solar Empire album and the short story that co-founder Lisa Rieger has written in support of their concept album.
  • From the Philippines, by way of New York, we’ll bring you Turbo Goth.
  • From America, we’ll bring you Cliff and Ivy, “Alaska’s Goth Duo.”

Through a combination of interviews and reviews, join us on our exploration of what the music and lyrical stories tell us about the state of modern-day Goth music.
